More about Kate

Born in Switzerland in the late 1950s, Kate has spent her life exploring people, relationships, and the human mind. Fluent in French from the age of 10 and having lived across Switzerland, France and the UK, she has always been deeply curious about why people do what they do—though naturally cautious around strangers as a youngster.

A challenging marriage inspired Kate to pursue psychology and counselling. Her diverse educational path includes a bilingual secretarial diploma, HR qualifications, CPCAB Level 5 counselling, hypnotherapy, and intervention techniques such as BWRT, EFT, and Mind Calm Meditation. She complements this training with extensive reading. Deeply interested in neurodiversity, Kate recognises traits in herself and her family and dedicates significant time to understanding supporting neurodivergent individuals in a counselling context.

Kate is also a self-confessed geek, constantly updating her website with blogs and refining content where necessary. She manages the website for her local choir, with

whom she sings weekly, and, like many women of a certain age, she actively works on keeping fit—attending the gym regularly, walking in nature to calm her overactive mind, and practising self-compassion. She is immensely proud of her two daughters, who continue to teach her new perspectives and inspire growth in both their lives.

Her work focuses on relationships, attachment issues, neurodiversity, calming the overactive mind, understanding abuse in all its forms, and exploring the fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses—recognising how we may experience them at different levels. She shares her insights through concise book summaries, worksheets, and guided exercises, making valuable knowledge accessible for those who may find therapy financially difficult to access.

Excellently researched, yet always with a human touch, Kate’s content invites you to explore, reflect, and learn at your own pace. Many pages include links to recommended reading in a variety of formats.
